The hospice team brings compassionate care to patients and families in the place they call home. The care team also ensures needed equipment, medications, and supplies are available. With hospice services, patients are able to remain at home surrounded by the people and things they love. Services focus on promoting comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Our services are listed below:
- Expertise in symptom control and pain management
- Visits by registered nurses and medical social workers
- Visits by hospice aides to assist with personal care needs
- Staff on call 24-hours a day, 7-days a week
- Physician services for the medical direction of the patient's care, provided by the patient's personal physician or the Hospice of Dubuque Medical Director(s)
- Prescription and over-the-counter medications related to the terminal diagnosis
- Medical supplies and equipment (ie, wheelchair, hospital bed, oxygen)
- Spiritual counseling for the patient and family
